Helping Hands has won the prestigious Care Employer Award at this year’s Great West Midlands Care Awards.

The Great West Midlands Care Awards, supported by the Department of Health, are part of the Great British Care Awards, a series of regional and national awards which celebrate excellence in social care and pay tribute to those who work in the sector throughout England. 

Tim Lee, Chief Executive of Helping Hands said; “As a family owned and run company we are particularly delighted that our achievements as an employer have been recognized by these prestigious industry awards. The happiness and well-being of our carers is of the upmost importance to us which results in a passionate and dedicated team. Winning the best employer title is testament to this ongoing investment in and commitment to our carers.”

In awarding the best employer accolade, the panel of judges was particularly impressed with Helping Hands’ engagement of its staff, commenting: “Infectious enthusiasm from the Helping Hands team was underpinned by fantastic examples of creative ways they train and engage their carers, maintaining a supportive family feel to their successful growing business.”

They are the perfect showcase to reflect on best practice in the social care sector. The people of the West Midlands are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated people, like the staff at Helping Hands, caring for the vulnerable and elderly members of their communities.”

Helping Hands Homecare, which is based in Alcester, was presented with the award by the BBC’s Des Coleman at a glittering ceremony held at Solihull’s National Motorcycle Museum on Saturday 9th October. As a regional winner, the company now qualifies for the national finals which will take place in 2011 in London.
